What is Aquatic Physiotherapy?
Aquatic Physiotherapy involves utilising the unique properties of water to enhance the recovery and rehabilitation of patients with a wide range of conditions including:
• Back pain
• Osteoarthritis
• Pre-operative strengthening prior to joint replacement surgery
• Post-operative rehabilitation following surgery, fracture and tendon repair
• Balance and co-ordination problems
• Shoulder pain
• Sports injuries
• Spinal injuries

Classes are conducted at both Griffith Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre (GRALC) and Griffith Post School Options (GPSO).
Aquatic Physiotherapy sessions in Griffith
Group sessions
Aquatic Physiotherapy in a group setting with a tailored program provided to each patient. Each session will last approximately 45 minutes.

How much does Aquatic Physiotherapy cost?
Group Aquatic Physiotherapy
$50 for initial visit.
$40 for subsequent visits.
This is claimable through your private health fund (dependent on your level of cover).
Patients with a third party payer such as WorkCover, National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) are charged at the organisation’s gazetted rates.
Entrance to both GRALC and GPSO is included in the cost of treatment.
Aquatic Physiotherapy can be accessed using the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program. A referral must come from your GP for this program.
Can I claim the cost of Aquatic Physiotherapy with my private health fund?
Aquatic physiotherapy is claimable through your private health fund dependant on your level of cover.
Aquatic Physiotherapy payment
Payment for all sessions is expected at the time of treatment (cash or direct deposit following session). No EFTPOS facilities available.
Do I need a referral for Aquatic Physiotherapy?
No. A referral from your treating Physiotherapist or GP or specialist is preferred but not essential. Please contact Tara to discuss details.
